What Roomealo is
Roomealo is a service that helps you find compatible people to share a home with. We compare how each person lives and show who you'd fit best with, always explaining why.
What it isn't
We're not an estate agency. People with a spare room can show it on their profile, but we don't broker tenancies, handle payments or take commission on the rent, and we're not a party to any agreement you reach with another person. Contracts, deposits and payments are between you.
The compatibility we show is an estimate based on each person's answers. It isn't a prediction or a guarantee of anything.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over
- What you publish must be yours and true: the photo, the name and the age
- One person, one account
- You're responsible for what you publish and what you write to others
What you can't do
- Harass, threaten or abuse other people
- Impersonate anyone or post photos that aren't yours
- Ask for money, deposits or holding fees through the service
- Post commercial adverts or recruit users for other services
- Discriminate on grounds of origin, gender, orientation, religion, disability or any other protected characteristic
- Scrape data from the site
Moderation
Anyone can report a profile or a conversation. Reports are reviewed by a person, not just an automated filter. If an account breaks these rules we may restrict or close it, and in serious cases we'll do so without prior notice. We'd rather err on the strict side.
Liability
We take reasonable steps to keep the community safe, but we can't guarantee the truth of what each person publishes or how they'll behave outside the service. Before making decisions — a viewing, a deposit, a contract — apply common sense and the advice on our safety page.
Closing your account
You can close your account whenever you like from settings, or by writing to hello@roomealo.com. We stop showing your profile immediately and delete your data on the timescales in the privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you're a consumer, you keep the rights granted to you by the law of your country of residence.
